What’s New for September TV

Now that the September long weekend is behind us I am starting to look forward to cooler weather and curling up on my couch each night to watch some TV with my husband.  Or lay in bed and watch my ‘girly’ shows by myself on Mondays and Thursdays while he watches football.  Either way I’m looking forward to the return of some of my favorite shows which are This is Us, Modern Family (the final season), The Goldbergs and Young Sheldon.

Below is a list of some new shows coming up with a quick little description.  There are some on this list that I think might be cancelled pretty quickly but I’ll definitely be tuning in to watch Manifest and A Million Little Things.

The Neighborhood A friendly guy from the Midwest tries to fit in in a tough L.A. neighborhood.

Happy Together Claire and Peter are married and live a life full of routine, but when mega star Cooper shows up in front of their doorstep, they get dragged into his life of fame and all that comes with it.

Manifest After a turbulent, but routine flight, the passengers and crew discover the world has aged five years, yet no time has passed for them, and soon a deeper mystery unfolds.

The Kids Are Alright A pair of working class parents in an Irish-Catholic family try to raise their eight kids during the 1970s.

New Amsterdam A new medical director breaks the rules to heal the system at America’s oldest public hospital.

Single Parents A group of single parents form their own support system as they raise their kids and struggle to start new relationships.

A Million Little Things A group of friends, intertwined in each other’s lives, realize they need to start living more when one of them suddenly dies.

Murphy Brown – The personal and professional misadventures of a woman working as a TV journalist.

REL – A successful comic tries to put his life back on track after his marriage falls apart.

God Friended Me – An atheist’s life is turned upside down when he is “friended” by God on Facebook.

The Conners – Spinoff of the comedy series ‘Roseanne’, centering on the family members of the matriarch.

I’ll be back here in a couple months with a list of mid-season shows to check out.
